About Reborn Animal Rescue
At Reborn Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Torrington, CT, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and their pets during critical times. Established in 2020, we initially focused on helping homeless, stray animals, and surrenders. However, as of late 2024, we are pivoting our mission to provide support to those facing mental health challenges, hospitalizations, and domestic violence by creating a safe haven for their beloved animals.
Our passionate team of volunteers and staff is driven by a common goal: to ensure that families can receive the help they need without sacrificing their pets' safety and wellbeing. We firmly believe that during times of crisis, no one should have to choose between their health and the care of their pets.
Through our "Pawsitive Haven" initiative, we aim to offer temporary housing for pets whose owners are seeking inpatient treatment or escaping domestic violence. By partnering with local shelters, mental health organizations, and community resources, we strive to create a comprehensive support network for those in need.
When animals arrive at our facility, we provide them with the necessary medical attention, care, and rehabilitation to ensure they are healthy and happy while their owners focus on their recovery. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where pets can thrive until they can be reunited with their families.
Instead of an adoption process, our focus is on reunifying pets with their owners as quickly as possible. We provide support and resources to help families navigate their challenges, ensuring a smooth transition back home when they are ready.
In addition to our rescue efforts, we believe in raising awareness about the importance of keeping families together during crises. Through workshops, community events, and partnerships with local organizations, we aim to educate the public about the challenges faced by those in mental health distress or escaping domestic violence, and how we can support them.
